Title: iOS Engineer
Duration: Contract
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
We're looking for an iOS Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll contribute to the development of mobile applications used by tens of millions of users worldwide, ensuring exceptional quality, performance, and user experience. You'll collaborate within a cross-functional agile team consisting of designers, product owners, QA, and engineers-bringing your expertise and curiosity to enhance features and improve mobile application performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance iOS applications using Swift and UIKit frameworks
- Build, refactor, and integrate mobile solutions that deliver outstanding user experience and performance
- Work closely with designers and product teams to translate conceptual requirements into working software
- Debug, profile, and optimize code to ensure scalability, reliability, and responsiveness
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests while contributing to continuous integration practices
- Interact with Legacy Objective-C codebases and contribute modernized replacements as needed
- Apply functional and MVVM architectural patterns to improve maintainability of solutions
Requirements (Must Have Skills)
- Proven experience building and deploying iOS applications using Swift (with exposure to Objective-C)
- Strong understanding of iOS frameworks (UIKit), MVVM, and RESTful API integrations
- Working knowledge of build and CI tools, including Tuist, xcodebuild, GitHub Actions, and Circle CI
- Experience with functional programming patterns, debugging tools, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with XCTest/XCUITest frameworks for testing automation
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity with µFeatures architecture, Danger, and RAML API documentation
- Experience working with Legacy systems, integrating modern APIs with historical infrastructure
- Contributions to open-source iOS projects or mobile developer communities
- Strong sense of code quality, attention to detail, and appreciation for clean, maintainable architecture.
