Summary: The Investments Data Analyst role at Legal & General focuses on analyzing front office business requirements and translating them into scalable data solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering requirements from internal Investments stakeholders, Technology, and Business Change teams in the form of User Stories, Features, and Epics.
  • Delivering analysis artifacts including user stories, data flows, service descriptions, and mapping specifications for development and testing.
  • Collaborating with Data Operations and Marketplace teams to ensure scalable, repeatable, and sustainable designs.
  • Delivering investment-specific data solutions by clarifying business requirements and working with technology partners.
  • Analyzing existing investments datasets to identify inefficiencies and designing a data migration plan for a scalable model.
  • Investigating data issues and collaborating with Data Stakeholders to understand problems and solutions.
  • Developing data controls as part of user stories and maintaining up-to-date data documentation.
  • Performing User Acceptance Testing sign-off for data deliverables and supporting users in executing UAT.

Key Skills:

  • Understanding of the Asset Management Industry, financial products, technologies, and data domains.
  • Knowledge of data governance concepts including data ownership and stewardship.
  • Effective requirements gathering techniques.
  • Experience working on data projects in the Asset Management Industry supporting front office functions.
  • Ability to analyze and design data services, including writing SQL queries and defining optimal data structures.
  • Understanding of Data Quality dimensions and defining DQ rules and metrics.
  • Experience working in an Agile, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills with portfolio managers, quants, developers, and subject matter experts.
