Summary: The role of Inventory Accountant is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Darlington, focusing on managing journal entries and reconciling inventory accounts for a globally recognized Diesel Engine manufacturer. The position primarily involves overseeing inventory provisions and conducting annual stock counts, with a particular emphasis on operations in Italy. Candidates should possess relevant accounting qualifications and experience with SAP, along with strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Journal entries and reconciling Finished Goods, Work In Progress, and Intercompany accounts.
  • Managing E&O (Excess & Obsolete) and other inventory provisions.
  • Running annual stock count reporting.
  • Overseeing one or two sites, primarily in Italy.

Key Skills:

  • Part qualified or new studying accountant.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to pick new tasks quickly and autonomously.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve issues with short deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills at different management levels.
  • Business partnering skills to build relationships with stakeholders.

Accountant - Inventory 6 Month Fixed Term Contract Darlington – Hybrid Working

The Company Certain Advantage is working on behalf of a globally known Diesel Engine manufacturer who designs, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems.

Key responsibilities RequiredJournal entries and reconciling Finished Goods,Work In progress and Intercompany accounts,E&O ( Excess & Obsolete) and other inventory provisions and running annual stock count reporting.This position will look after one or two sites but mainly Italy – you do not need to be a language speaker but if you have any Italian speakers, this would be a bonus
