Summary: The role of an Infrastructure Engineer involves migrating users and applications to modern cloud solutions, specifically from SCCM/Co-Managed to Intune/Auto-pilot and Citrix XenApp to Citrix cloud. The position requires hands-on experience in building and managing virtual desktops and supporting Microsoft Intune and Citrix cloud infrastructure. The engineer will also work closely with network teams and third-party partners to ensure security and optimal user experience. This is a 6-month contract position with hybrid working arrangements based in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and supporting Microsoft Intune / Auto-pilot and Citrix cloud infrastructure.
- Creating virtual desktops (pooled and dedicated) on Azure and AWS.
- Migrating users and applications from SCCM/Co-Managed to Intune / Auto-pilot and Citrix XenApp to Citrix cloud.
- Working with Active Directory / Group policies and collaborating with network teams on firewalls and SSO.
- Deploying and managing user data and application containerisation technologies, such as FSLogix and MSIX AppAttach.
- Automating processes using PowerShell scripts.
- Packaging applications for Intune and managing store apps.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune / Auto-pilot, Citrix XenApp, and Citrix cloud.
- Strong technical understanding of desktop and server management.
- Experience in identifying firewall issues and migrating large numbers of users and applications to the cloud.
- Ability to maintain and manage security and product updates across end-user devices.
- Focus on providing an excellent user experience and efficient delivery of devices.
