Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise sales quotations in response to customer requests and external sales managers.
  • Take ownership of quotations and follow up to conclusion.
  • Respond to technical customer inquiries via telephone and email.
  • Deliver daily processes with accuracy within tight timelines.
  • Provide comprehensive responses to customer queries regarding Gauge Selection and Instrumentation.
  • Take ownership of issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform business development activities from lead generation to handover.
  • Support external sales managers with opportunities and appointment creation.
  • Maintain customer databases (QAD & CRM).
  • Report and generate documentation as per expectations.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls.
  • Write application notes and articles for reference.
  • Undertake other departmental tasks as requested.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum two years' experience in a technical sales role for B2B manufacturing or distribution.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of Strain Gauge technology and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Strong ERP skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English.
  • Above average levels of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
  • Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred.

INTERNAL SALES ENGINEER REQUIRED ASAP BASINGSTOKE, IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE. £28-32K/ANNUM

Our client, a busy manufacturing company based in Basingstoke are currently in the market for an Inside Sales Engineer as detailed below:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Enthusiastic and pro-active Technical Applications Engineer required to work as part of a team within a busy and demanding environment, supporting the activities of the Divisional and Regional Sales Managers and Engineers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION(S):

85 % OF TIME

  • o Raise sales quotations as a response to both customer requests and from external Sales Managers
  • o Take ownership of quotations and chase through to conclusion including required follow up actions
  • o Respond to customer enquiries on a technical level from telephone, email and other sources to support the sales activity.
  • o Deliver all daily processes with consistent accuracy, while working within tight timelines.
  • o Provide prompt and comprehensive responses to customer queries relating to Gauge Selection, Accessories, Instrumentation and Bonding activity. Become the customer's voice within the business - aspire to exceed customer expectation, and to develop and optimise the relationship.
  • o Take ownership of arising issues, ensuring investigation and timely resolution.
  • o Perform Business Development activities from lead generation to close or handover to external sales managers
  • o Identify market opportunities and target sales opportunities
  • o Support external sales managers with opportunities and appointment creation
  • o Maintain customer databases QAD & CRM
  • o Reporting and generation of documentation in line with customer and internal expectations.
  • o Pro-active approach to Non-Trading, existing and potential customers in support of external sales activities.
  • o To follow industry trends, standards, market insight and new innovations, advising the sales team - to expand our offering and further support our position as market leader for Strain Gauge Technology

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum two years' experience in a technical sales role for B2B manufacturing or distribution environment is necessary. Team player with ability to prioritise. Good attention to detail. Unafraid to take on new challenges and develop within a demanding environment. Good knowledge of Strain Gauge technology and Data Acquisition systems.

EDUCATION:

Above average levels of numeracy, literacy and IT skills are expected. Ideally candidates will possess a degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering. Strong ERP skills. Relationships will be developed via telephone, email and occasionally, face-to-face. Therefore good presentation and communication skills are vital. English should be both spoken and written well.

A degree of autonomy will be given, so independence, initiative and decision making are necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Operating primarily in an office environment, there are no specific safety issues. The ability to handle and prioritise a fluctuating, varied and sometimes pressurised workload is important.
