Summary: The Internal Audit Associate position in Birmingham focuses on supporting the Internal Audit Investment Banking team by planning and conducting reviews, assessing risks and controls, and producing management reports. The role requires regular interaction with stakeholders to evaluate business changes and maintain relationships with internal and external parties. The successful candidate will also engage in ad hoc projects related to new processes and investigations. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for hire based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning and scoping reviews for internal audits.

Position: Internal Audit Associate Investment Banking

Location: Birmingham

Length: 6 months contract to hire (dependent on performance)

Interview process: 2 rounds

Day to day: Insight Global's leading financial services client is looking for an Associate to join the Internal Audit Investment Banking team. The successful candidate will participate in planning and scoping reviews, meet with stakeholders within the area being reviewed to understand and walk through the business and technology processes and identify the key risks and controls to be assessed. They will also assess the risk and impact of the issues identified on reviews and produce reports to management. As well as Ad hoc work on firmwide projects around new processes, activities and investigations, they will maintain internal stakeholder relationships. This involves regular interaction with the business to assess changes in the businesses which may influence the coverage scope and audit plan. Ongoing liaison will also include colleagues globally and internal and external stakeholders including regulators and external audit. Assessment of the adequacy of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls to mitigate the key risks identified.

Must Haves:

  • • Experience in an internal audit role within the financial services industry
  • • Significant experience with auditing Investment Banking / primary markets activity (E.g Mergers & Acquisitions, IPOs, Dept Capital Markets, Leverage Finance, Investment Grade, Issuance of Public Equities)
  • • Experience with conducting Regulatory Validation work
  • • A risk and control mindset
  • • A genuine interest in audit, businesses, functions and financial services.
