Summary: The Internal Audit Manager will support the Thomas Miller Internal Audit Department in delivering independent assurance and advisory services, focusing on enhancing governance and collaboration within the organization. This role involves overseeing co-sourced audit resources and ensuring the timely delivery of audit and advisory work as per the internal audit plan. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London, with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the timely delivery of audit and advisory work per the internal audit plan.
- Assist with audit research, including gathering and analyzing documentation and management information.
- Plan and undertake risk-based audits, preparing necessary audit and advisory documentation.
- Support the finalization of audit and advisory reports.
- Coordinate and collate management action responses, including follow-up activities.
- Assist in the preparation of internal audit Board and Committee papers.
- Contribute to the annual internal audit risk assessment and planning process.
- Support internal audit initiatives, including methodology enhancements and process efficiencies.
- Assist with overseeing and/or contributing to ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Key Skills:
- ACCA, ACMA, CIA or PIIA qualified / or equivalent industry certifications.
- Proven experience delivering end to end internal audits.
- Good understanding of non-life insurance core processes and services.
- Highly organized with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Intermediate proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools, particularly Power BI, is desirable.
- Good understanding of professional industry standards and frameworks.
- Team player who works well with the Internal Audit team and business stakeholders.

Overall Objective of Role: To support the Thomas Miller Internal Audit Department in delivering high-quality value-added independent assurance and advisory services to Thomas Miller, its owned businesses, and its managed Clubs. The role contributes to strengthening governance, encouraging accountability, and promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
Specific Responsibilities: This temporary role supports the timely delivery of audit and advisory work per the internal audit plan, with a primary focus on overseeing co-sourced audit resources. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assisting with audit research, including gathering and analysing documentation and management information to support audit scoping.
- Plan and undertake risk-based audits, preparing audit and advisory documentation such as planning memos, risk and control matrices (RACMs), completion of testing work papers (test of design, test of effectiveness and data analysis), initial findings, and draft reports.
- Supporting the finalisation of audit and advisory reports.
- Coordinating and collating management action responses, including follow up activities.
- Assisting in the preparation of internal audit Board and Committee papers.
- Contributing to the annual internal audit risk assessment and planning process.
- Supporting internal audit initiatives, such as methodology enhancements and process efficiencies including basic data analytics or visualisation activities.
- Assisting with overseeing and/or contributing to ad-hoc projects where deemed necessary from time to time.
Person Specification: ACCA, ACMA, CIA or PIIA qualified / or equivalent industry certifications. Proven experience delivering end to end internal audits (planning through to reporting, including follow-up of agreed management action plans). Good understanding of non-life insurance core processes and services. Highly organised with strong communication and presentation skills. Intermediate proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, etc). Experience with data visualisation and analytics tools (particularly Power BI) is desirable. Good understanding of professional industry standards and frameworks. All round team player. Works well with the immediate Internal Audit team and business stakeholders.
