Intermediate Electrical Engineer - Building Services Bristol (Hybrid Working Available)

I'm currently working with a well-established building services engineering consultancy based in Bristol that is looking to add an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to its growing team. This consultancy has been delivering innovative mechanical and electrical design solutions for over three decades , supporting clients across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, residential, leisure, and industrial developments . Their engineers work collaboratively with architects, developers and contractors to deliver high-quality, sustainable building services solutions from concept through to completion. The business is particularly recognised for its focus on energy-efficient design and sustainable engineering , providing expertise in areas such as low-carbon technologies, building performance modelling, lighting and power distribution, and building environmental performance. With a strong reputation in the South West and a diverse project portfolio ranging from large education schemes and healthcare facilities to complex refurbishment projects and commercial developments , this is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical building services design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms and data systems
• Produce electrical calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings
• Support the delivery of projects from concept through to completion
• Collaborate with architects, clients and the wider design team
• Attend design team and site meetings where required
• Ensure designs meet relevant UK standards and regulations
• Support the development of junior engineers where appropriate

Requirements

• Experience working in building services electrical design within a consultancy environment
• Understanding of electrical systems design for building projects
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards and design guidance
• Experience using design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, or similar (desirable)
• Familiarity with Revit/BIM environments would be beneficial
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
