Summary: The Interior Trim Planner role involves managing the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for bespoke automotive interior trim products at a luxury automotive brand in Chichester. The position requires project management skills, engineering evaluations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality and efficiency in production. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations of feasibility and cost for New Product Introduction (NPI) of low-volume, high-value products.
- Manage Interior Trim Centre activities throughout the NPI process, including evaluation, engineering, industrialisation, and launch.
- Participate in design and engineering reviews, conducting risk-based evaluations and implementing risk mitigations.
- Plan and deliver evaluation trials, prototypes, and initial trial batch production.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving using DMAIC methodology.
- Develop, improve, and industrialise new and existing manufacturing processes.
- Lead purchasing and commissioning of new jigs, fixtures, tooling, and equipment for projects.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within automotive, aerospace, or marine.
- Knowledge of NPI, APQP & Project Management.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical issues.
- Interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Preferable degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.

What awaits you?
Conduct evaluations of the feasibility and cost of New Product Introduction (NPI) of low-volume, high-value products for manufacture within our Interior Trim Bespoke Studio.
Project management of Interior Trim Centre activities through the entire NPI process, including evaluation, engineering / development, industrialisation and launch.
Participate in design and engineering reviews, conduct risk-based evaluations of production processes and implement risk mitigations to streamline the delivery of new products and satisfy the defined quality standards.
Plan and deliver evaluation trials, prototypes, and initial trial batch production through to integration of a stable process capable of delivering the required volume output.
Perform and lead cross-functional problem-solving using DMAIC methodology.
Develop, improve and industrialise new and existing manufacturing processes.
Lead purchasing and commissioning of new jigs, fixtures, tooling and equipment as defined by each project.
What you should bring along?
Experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within automotive, aerospace or marine
Knowledge of NPI, APQP & Project Management.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques
