Allen Lane are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Treasury & Finance Manager to join a local authority finance team on an initial 6-month contract.
Working closely with the Deputy Director of Finance and senior budget holders, you’ll play a key role in delivering treasury management, financial strategy, budget oversight and capital programme support during a period of ongoing transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support treasury management activities, cash flow forecasting and investment monitoring.
- Assist with capital financing decisions, borrowing strategies and treasury reporting.
- Provide financial advice to senior stakeholders and budget holders.
- Support the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) and annual budget-setting processes.
- Monitor departmental budgets, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Contribute to statutory reporting, year-end accounts and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CIPFA Treasury Management Code and financial regulations.
- Lead and develop finance staff while driving continuous improvement across the service.
About You
- CCAB/CIPFA qualified or part-qualified with significant local government finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of Treasury Management, capital financing, borrowing and investments.
- Able to communicate complex financial information to senior non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills within a public sector environment.
