Summary: The role of Interim Systems Data Analyst involves supporting a public sector organization in Central Manchester for an initial nine-month contract. The successful candidate will enhance and maintain the data infrastructure for finance systems, providing user support and developing solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day support for the finance systems function, responding to user queries and resolving technical issues.
  • Maintaining and enhancing reporting solutions using SQL and VBA.
  • Investigating and resolving issues relating to Excel macros and automated processes.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of finance system functionality and workflow improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining reports through SQL database interrogation.
  • Assisting with the creation of new system functionality, including workflows, business rules and data entry solutions.
  • Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical system solutions.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting, controls and system efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong VBA capability.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and interrogating databases.
  • A demonstrable technical aptitude with the ability to learn and develop finance system solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to support both finance and non-finance users.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service.

Salary (Rate): £300 daily

Robertson Bell is supporting a well-established public sector organisation based in Central Manchester to recruit an Interim Systems Data Analyst, on an initial nine-month contract, for an exciting opportunity within a highly collaborative finance systems team.

Working alongside experienced finance systems professionals, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the organisation's the data infrastructure that supports the organisation finance systems and processes, providing user support and developing/fixing existing solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day support for the finance systems function, responding to user queries and resolving technical issues.
  • Maintaining and enhancing reporting solutions using SQL and VBA.
  • Investigating and resolving issues relating to Excel macros and automated processes.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of finance system functionality and workflow improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining reports through SQL database interrogation.
  • Assisting with the creation of new system functionality, including workflows, business rules and data entry solutions.
  • Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical system solutions.

  • Knowledge of reporting, financial data or business intelligence environments.
