Summary: The Interim Supply Chain Specialist role involves developing a business case for a Supply Chain Project within a public sector organization. The position requires collaboration with procurement teams and stakeholders to optimize stock management and identify cost-saving opportunities. The specialist will also support the Director of Procurement in enhancing supplier and contract management processes. This is a 3-month initial contract based in North Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a business case for the Supply Chain Project, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with procurement teams to identify stock for bulk purchasing to aid cost savings.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the department, ensuring stock levels align with budget holders.
- Find cost-effective routes to donate, reuse, or dispose of stock.
- Identify and rectify catalogue management issues where products are not updated or removed.
- Support the Director of Procurement in implementing Supplier and Contract Management to improve supply chain delivery and resilience.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience within Supply Chain in public or private sector organizations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders.
- Track record of change management and leading strategies to modernize a Supply Chain function.
