Summary: The Interim Social Housing Surveyor role involves providing absence cover for a leading housing association in Leeds, focusing on responsive repairs inspections and contractor liaison. The position requires a site-based operational approach to ensure high-quality service delivery across various locations. The contract is guaranteed for 8 weeks with potential for extension, emphasizing flexibility and a busy inspection schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out day-to-day responsive repairs inspections
  • Conducting pre- and post-inspections, including damp and mould cases
  • Completing mutual exchange inspections
  • Undertaking joint inspections with housing teams and contractors
  • Liaising with contractors to ensure quality and timely completion of works
  • Completing inspection reports and documentation accurately and promptly
  • Supporting housing and resolution teams with technical advice
  • Delivering excellent customer service during home visits

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience working as a Surveyor within social housing
  • Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and Schedule of Rates (SORs)
  • Experience working closely with repairs contractors and housing teams
  • Ability to manage a busy inspection schedule and work independently
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally

Interim Social Housing Surveyor – Absence Cover (8 Week Contract)

We are currently working with a leading housing association in Leeds seeking an experienced Social Housing Surveyor to provide interim absence cover, supporting day-to-day repairs and maintenance across its housing stock in Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate and Ripon.

This is a site-based, operational role focused on responsive repairs inspections, contractor liaison, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to residents.

Contract Details

  • Interim contract – Guaranteed 8 weeks, with potential extension
  • Monday to Friday – Flexible working between 08:00–18:00
  • Site-based role covering Leeds and surrounding areas (travel required)
  • Up to 8 inspections per day
  • Tablet-based reporting and administration
