The Opportunity - Interim Site Engineering Manager
This role would suit a Site Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Senior Maintenance Manager or Senior Engineering Leader who enjoys coaching others, creating accountability, and developing teams to achieve their full potential.
You'll inherit a capable team and be given the platform to drive engagement, improve performance, develop future talent and implement best practice engineering standards at the site.
Key Responsibilities - Interim Site Engineering Manager
- Lead, coach and develop a multi-disciplined engineering function
- Create an engaged, accountable and high-performing team culture
- Drive engineering reliability and operational performance
- Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance strategies
- Support the site's continuous improvement and operational excellence journey
- Develop engineering KPIs, performance measures and improvement plans
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, engineering standards and statutory requirements
- Manage engineering budgets, resources and expenditure effectively
- Support capital projects, site improvements and equipment reliability initiatives
- Promote a proactive approach to maintenance, problem solving and root cause analysis
What We're Looking For - Interim Site Engineering Manager
- Proven engineering leadership experience within FMCG, manufacturing, processing, food, beverage, packaging, or a similar 24/7 production environment
- Strong people management, coaching and team development capability
- Track record of improving engineering performance and site reliability
- Experience leading maintenance and engineering functions within a manufacturing setting
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational level
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A collaborative leadership style with genuine focus on developing people
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving positive change
- Experience in leading technical frontline maintenance, services, and project teams in manufacturing
- Track record of using advanced manufacturing techniques (e.g., WCM/TPM/Lean)
- HNC/HND/DEGREE within an engineering discipline, minimum, ideally a time-served apprentice engineer
