Summary: The Interim Senior Property Manager will oversee the strategic and operational management of a prestigious public sector estate in London for a duration of 24 months. This role involves managing a diverse property portfolio, including freehold and leasehold properties, while ensuring compliance and driving income generation. The ideal candidate will possess MRICS qualifications and extensive experience in property management within the public sector. Responsibilities also include liaising with various stakeholders and managing external agents and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee strategic and operational management of the property portfolio.
- Supervise freehold and leasehold properties, including operational buildings, offices, retail, and residential assets.
- Deliver expertise in landlord and tenant management, leasing, planning, service charge, and legal matters.
- Drive income generation and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Manage external agents and contractors and liaise with academic staff.
Key Skills:
- MRICS qualified with 5 years post qualification experience.
- Able to start at short notice.
- Willing to travel to London as required.
- Experience in managing property/estates in a complex environment, preferably client-side within the public sector.
- Experience engaging with tenants, landlords, public bodies, and communities.
- Experience evaluating development opportunities and conducting rent and lease reviews.
- Experience liaising with legal representatives and external property advisors.
- Up-to-date knowledge of statutory regulations and best practices in estate management.
- Knowledge of the planning application procedure and experience liaising with local authorities.
- Understanding of financial information in a property context.
- Proven communication and people skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
