They are a Public Sector Body organisation and seeking new interim support to offer assistance with an exciting new project they are implementing.
Your new role As the Commercial Officer, will support the delivery of the Tail-End Spend (TES) Project and contribute to the wider transformation of purchasing and finance systems. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial operations, procurement processes, and project coordination. Working closely with the Commercial Lead and cross-functional teams, the Commercial Officer will help ensure that purchasing solutions are implemented effectively, stakeholder needs are met, and compliance is maintained.
Assist in coordinating project activities, tracking progress, and supporting delivery against timelines. Support stakeholder engagement and communications to ensure smooth adoption of new purchasing channels. Help maintain documentation, benefits tracking, and change control records. Contribute to procurement activities, including supplier engagement and contract administration. Participate in training, testing, and business readiness activities to support successful implementation.
What you'll need to succeed A foundational understanding of public sector procurement and commercial processes. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners. A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving, with a willingness to take initiative. Competence in using IT tools, including Microsoft Office and basic project management software.
What you'll get in return You will be undertaking an 8-month contract, working under flexible arrangements on a hybrid basis at the Bristol office, which will be a minimum of 1 to 2 times per month. Therefore, you must be within commutable distance to be considered.
