Interim Senior Buyer - 18 months

Summary: As the Senior Buyer for a global manufacturer, you will oversee the local purchasing department, focusing on cost savings and team leadership during an 18-month maternity cover. This role demands supervisory experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or heavy engineering context, alongside expertise in SAP and MRP systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 4 (Buyers & Stores)
• Act as SAP MM key user for the plant
• Assist with the implementation of a category management approach
• Convert Purchase orders in accordance with the purchasing policy

Key Skills:

• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) at level 4 or above
• Strong management skills
• Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of cost reduction initiatives
• Experience of using SAP with a sound knowledge of MRP
