Summary: Robertson Bell is seeking an experienced contractor for the role of Interim Risk & Assurance Lead within a Central Government department's Risk and Assurance team for an initial period of 3-6 months. The position aims to bolster the team's capacity to manage an increased workload and deliver critical outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for mapping assurance frameworks, reviewing controls, and preparing risk reports for senior stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves conducting training and workshops to promote best practices within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mapping the organisations assurance framework, with a focus on first and second line support.
  • Reviewing the existing controls and identifying opportunities to strengthen them.
  • Preparing and delivering risk reports to senior stakeholders, with recommendations attached.
  • Running training and workshops to educate colleagues and the business in best practice.

Key Skills:

  • A background in one of the following roles; Risk & Assurance, Internal Audit, Financial Policy/Strategy or Programme Management (with evidence of Risk/Assurance management).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, particularly at a senior level.
  • Excellent report writing ability and a keen eye for detail.
  • An active CTC, SC or DV Clearance - due to the time frames applicable.

Robertson Bell are supporting a historic and reputable Central Government department to recruit an experienced contractor into their Risk and Assurance team for an initial period of 3-6 months.

This comes at a time when the team is experiencing an increased workload and important deliverables that need to be met. As such, my client is looking to increase resilience and expertise within the team.

The Risk and Assurance Lead will be responsible for:

  • Mapping the organisations assurance framework, with a focus on first and second line support.
  • Reviewing the existing controls and identifying opportunities to strengthen them.
  • Preparing and delivering risk reports to senior stakeholders, with recommendations attached.
  • Running training and workshops to educate colleagues and the business in best practice.

My client is looking for the following:

  • A background in one of the following roles; Risk & Assurance, Internal Audit, Financial Policy/Strategy or Programme Management (with eveidence of Risk/Assurance management).
