Summary: The Interim Risk Officer will support the Risk Leads in managing and analyzing operational and change risks within the organization. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires expertise in risk management practices. The position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work, and is initially contracted for six months. The officer will also contribute to internal audit processes and risk management reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with risk owners to manage risk mitigation activities.
- Maintain and assist in implementing internal audit report recommendations.
- Facilitate regular reviews of risk registers across the organization.
- Manage internal audit and incident data inputs.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for best practice risk management.
- Support Risk Leads in delivering risk workshops and mentoring users.
- Manage data in analytical tools including MS Excel.
- Produce data insights and support risk owners with risk registers.
- Provide input into Management and Board level reports.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in risk management processes.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially advanced Excel.
- Experience with Power BI is preferable.
- Ability to analyze complex data and produce reports.
- Good understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model.
- Experience with internal audit programs.
- Some experience in the public sector.
- Desirable experience in public sector procurements and training material development.
- Experience with risk management software applications.
- Use of statistical techniques for data analysis.
