Summary: The Interim Procurement Lead role in Sheffield involves leading the procurement function during a significant transformation within a major public sector organization focused on passenger transport services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement function during a period of change, ensuring business continuity and strategic alignment with transformation goals.
  • Oversee high-value and complex procurements in line with Public Contract Regulations (PA 23) and emerging procurement reforms.
  • Deliver improved commercial outcomes through enhanced sourcing, contract management, and supplier engagement.
  • Provide clear leadership to a skilled procurement team, while advising senior stakeholders across operations, legal, and finance.
  • Drive a review of current policies, processes, and systems, aligning procurement with new service models and future-proofed delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable interim leadership experience in public sector procurement, ideally within transport or infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of public procurement legislation and governance.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a change or transformation context.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to challenge, influence, and build consensus at all levels.
  • MCIPS qualified (or equivalent experience).

Salary (Rate): £500.00 daily

The Role

As Interim Head of Procurement, you will:
