Summary: The role of Interim Manufacturing Financial Controller involves overseeing financial operations at a global manufacturing plant in Redditch. The position requires managing financial reporting, budgeting, and team development while ensuring compliance with internal controls and continuous improvement. This is a 3-6 month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in finance within a manufacturing context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an integral member of the Plant Finance and Management team, providing support and control for the Redditch plant.
- Oversee all aspects of corporate and internal reporting, ensuring adherence to timetables, financial integrity, and completeness.
- Manage and complete month-end processes, including variance analysis.
- Report plant performance (actuals, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis) using Hyperion.
- Prepare and present budgets and forecasts (profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet).
- Manage the Finance team.
- Oversee key KPIs, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging, driving improvements and efficiencies.
- Pursue continuous improvements to financial controls and other operational processes within the business.
- Handle Judgmental Reserves Schedules and Accrued Liabilities reporting, SOX Testing Reviews, and presentations to the Divisional Financial Controller.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation reviews.
- Calculate and provide for warranty exposure.
- Conduct product profitability analysis and reviews.
- Work closely with external auditors for year-end and interim audits, internal audit FOAs, and balance sheet reviews.
- Review and sign off on headcount.
- Review, maintain, and implement internal controls, including quarterly SOX testing.
- Develop direct report heads to achieve personal and professional goals, supporting the longer-term succession plan.
- Manage two stock-takes annually.
- Complete ad-hoc tasks as required.
Key Skills:
- Fully Qualified Accountant or QBE with strong manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated experience in finance and accounting within a manufacturing or plant setting.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience in internal audits and control reviews.
- Proficient in IT, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple, conflicting deadlines.
- Focused on team management and development.
