Summary: The Interim Management Accountant role in the West Midlands involves supporting a large Multi Academy Trust's finance team by producing monthly management accounts and consolidated reports. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts for the Trust and individual schools.
  • Prepare consolidated reports and deliver clear variance analysis.
  • Support the annual budget cycle and contribute to year-end processes including audit preparation.
  • Business partnering with schools, offering data-driven financial advice.
  • Ensure compliance with ESFA requirements and maintain robust financial controls.

Key Skills:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  • Strong management accounting experience within a Multi-Academy Trust.
  • Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
  • Confident presenting financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to build strong working relationships.

Salary (Rate): £300 Daily

Your new company
A large Multi Academy Trust in the West Midlands, operating across a wide school network, is looking to appoint an Interim Management Accountant to support its finance team. The Trust is continuing to grow and is focused on strong financial management, transparent reporting, and effective use of resources to support school improvement.

Your new role You will take responsibility for producing monthly management accounts for both the Trust and individual schools, preparing consolidated reports, and delivering clear variance analysis. You'll support the annual budget cycle, work closely with school leaders and business managers, and contribute to year-end processes including audit preparation. A key part of the role involves business partnering with a group of schools, offering data-driven financial advice, ensuring compliance with ESFA requirements, and maintaining robust financial controls.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Strong management accounting experience within a Multi-Academy Trust
