Summary: The Management Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Sheffield, focusing on producing accurate management accounts and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. The position requires collaboration with the Finance Manager and senior stakeholders to ensure effective financial controls and reporting. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant looking to make an immediate impact in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for various financial tasks, including variance analysis and cashflow forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Producing detailed variance analysis and discussing results with site managers
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and posting monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Preparing regular cashflow forecasts and assisting with audit requirements
- Reviewing aged debtors and creditors, resolving queries and improving reporting accuracy
- Delivering ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations to support decision making
Key Skills:
- Proven experience preparing full monthly management accounts in line with deadlines
- Fully Qualified Accountant or QBE or fully qualified accountant - able to hit the ground running
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets
- Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, organised and detail-focused approach
- Experience using Sage 200 and working in a multi-site organisation (desirable)

The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take responsibility for producing accurate and timely management accounts and supporting financial analysis to inform key decisions. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and senior stakeholders, ensuring effective controls, insightful reporting and smooth month-end delivery.
