Interim Management Accountant

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Interim Management Accountant on an initial 6-month contract.

Our client are a retail business with a busy Finance team looking for extra support during a particularly busy period. There is potential opportunity for the roles to go permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) who is looking to broaden their management accounting experience within a fast-paced and supportive environment. Candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Produce management reports, analysis and variance commentary.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Prepare and analyse balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor budgets, costs and financial performance.
• Provide financial information and insight to budget holders and operational teams.

About You: We are looking for someone who:

• Is part-qualified or qualified by experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Has previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance role.
• Has a good understanding of month-end processes and management accounts.
• Is confident working with Excel and financial systems.
• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Can communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Is organised, commercially aware and able to work to deadlines.
• Can quickly adapt to a new environment and make a positive contribution during the interim assignment.
