Summary: The role of Interim Management Accountant involves overseeing payroll, ledgers, and reconciliations for a growing UK and US-based manufacturing business during a transitional period. This position offers autonomy and flexibility, allowing the candidate to work closely with key stakeholders while maintaining a work-life balance. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days from home, and is expected to last between three to six months. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the candidate will play a crucial role in the finance team's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll processes, including weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accurate transaction processing.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain good relationships while chasing debt.
  • Ensure timely issuance and payment of invoices and processing of payments.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to keep cash flow in check.
  • Assist with management accounts, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Manage data flow between finance systems through system uploads.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (Interim Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Manager, etc.).
  • Experience with managing payroll processes through Sage Payroll.
  • Solid understanding of ledger tasks (credits, debits, and reconciliations).
  • Desirable knowledge of management accounts.
  • Hands-on approach with pragmatism and adaptability to change.
