Summary: The role of Interim Management Accountant involves supporting the finance team of an NHS organization in Devon during a period of change and transformation. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and detailed commentary
- Supporting budget setting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Business partnering with budget holders and operational teams, offering financial insight and challenge
- Assisting with statutory reporting and year-end processes
- Supporting improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting
- Analysing financial performance and highlighting risks and opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with NHS financial governance and reporting standards
Key Skills:
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Proven recent experience working within the NHS
- Strong understanding of NHS finance processes, systems, and reporting requirements
- Demonstrable management accounting and financial analysis experience
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with non-finance stakeholders
- Highly organised and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with NHS finance systems (eg ESR, Oracle, or equivalent) is desirable
