Detailed Description From Employer:

Role overview: The role will focus on balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of monthly management accounts, analysis and commentary on the monthly management accounts and preparation of financial statements. The role will own the general ledger of certain legal entities and provide opportunities to gain broader experience on continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts (supplier, subcontractor, customer, bank, control accounts, fixed assets, intercompany etc.)
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure ledger balances are accurate and supported by documentation which can be audited internally or externally
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and corrections.
  • Support the finance team with month-end journal adjustments as required.
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare management account reporting packs in a timely manner.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary on the management accounts, liaising with relevant stakeholders to understand performance and variance to Forecast and Budget.
  • Preparation of financial statements and audit
  • Prepare the financial statements and financial statements notes for the legal entities the role is responsible for
  • For entities that are subject to audit, be the primary point of contact for all audit enquiries
  • Resolve audit requests in a timely manner
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting & Analysis
  • Produce ad-hoc financial reports to support management and the wider finance team.
  • Assist with data analysis and reconciliation schedules as required.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting by challenging current processes.

  • Work closely with the Finance Controller and wider finance team to support daily operations and process improvement.
  • Provide support across accounts payable, receivable functions as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Qualified (ACCA).
  • Coins experience (desirable)
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience in preparing monthly Management Accounts and providing analysis on performance versus Forecast and Budget
  • Experience in Financial Statement preparation
  • Proven experience producing high-quality financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Proactive problem solver with the initiative to identify issues and drive solutions.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
