Summary: The role of Interim Legal Counsel involves supporting a global financial institution's Technology, Operations & Procurement legal team. The position requires a tech-savvy commercial lawyer to advise on third-party service, procurement, and technology agreements while collaborating with various stakeholders across EMEA. The successful candidate will engage in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating ICT and outsourcing contracts (cloud, SaaS, software licensing, cyber security, managed services etc.)
- Supporting compliance with UK/EBA outsourcing guidelines and EU DORA requirements
- Advising on supplier disputes, regulatory risk and data protection
- Collaborating on global legal initiatives and supporting internal playbook development
- Liaising with colleagues in Tokyo and the Americas on international contracting matters
Key Skills:
- Qualified lawyer with 5–7+ years' experience
- Strong background in tech and commercial contracting, ideally in regulated environments
- Confident advising on complex cross-border deals and emerging areas like AI regulation and operational resilience
- Able to work independently with stakeholders across the business

We're supporting a global financial institution with the appointment of an interim Legal Counsel to join their Technology, Operations & Procurement legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an interim tech-savvy commercial lawyer to step into a high-impact role supporting business-critical IT and transformation projects. You’ll be advising across a broad portfolio of third-party service, procurement, and technology agreements, working closely with the business, Procurement, IT Security, and stakeholders across EMEA and beyond.
