Summary: The role of Interim Health & Safety Manager involves overseeing the health and safety service delivery for a local authority in Berkshire for an initial period of six months. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to promote best practices and ensure compliance with health and safety policies. The manager will also support the Health and Safety Manager in developing standards and auditing departmental adherence to safety protocols. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with potential for extension.

Main purpose of the Job:
To contribute to the efficient and effective health and safety service delivery ensuring resources are mobilised proactively. To contribute to a high performance and continuous improvement culture delivering and promoting and embedding best practice methods and standards.
Lead by example in modelling and embedding the council’s values and behaviors, working collaboratively with services across the council, partners and stakeholders to deliver the council’s objectives and priorities to help build a sustainable highly effective organisation and develop our reputation as a successful council delivering great value for its residents.
Support the Health and Safety Manager in delivering and developing excellent standards, policies, procedures and processes relating to health and safety. To advise, tenants, directors and managers across the council on all health and safety related matters.
To audit departments on their applications of health and safety policies and procedures.

£550 a day inside IR35
