Summary: The role of Health and Safety Consultant involves providing professional support across various services for a local authority, focusing on occupational health and safety management systems. The position is initially for 5 months with potential extensions and requires effective communication and compliance monitoring. The ideal candidate should have public sector experience and hold a NEBOSH National Diploma or Level 6 certification. This is a hybrid role based in Bristol with home working options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health and safety support across Parks/Environmental Management, Harbours/Docks, and Corporate Services.
  • Communicate, consult, and maintain occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Monitor compliance to prevent occupational injury and ill health.
  • Improve performance, culture, and participation in health and safety practices.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in health and safety, preferably in the public sector.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma / Level 6 Certification.
  • Strong communication and consultation skills.
  • Ability to monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Salary (Rate): 350
