The Role
The Head of Solar and EV Installation is responsible for end-to-end performance across So Energy’s Solar and Storage and EV Charger installation business lines.
This role leads an established team of specialists, covering the installation value proposition, sales, delivery, aftercare and commercial P&L performance.
Reporting to our Marketing Director.

What you’ll be getting up to in this role: Proposition Development
Oversee the Solar and Storage and EV Charger installation propositions, maintaining a compelling range of hardware, installation, aftercare and finance options.
Collaborate with Propositions, Trading and Technology to build compelling smart tariffs supporting install cross-sell and CLTV.
Ensure Solar and EV installation products deliver value to customers and a profitable contribution for So Energy.
Support the wider So Energy brand proposition, building compelling proof points aligned to the commercial strategy.
Commercial Performance
Own the P&L for Solar & Storage, EV charger installation and referral revenue, with end-to-end accountability for profitability.
Lead forecasting and target setting for the installation business, working with SLT and finance to agree plans and budgets.
Drive improvements in unit economics, bringing commercial discipline to the growth vs cost trade-offs.
Support managers to deliver against sales and delivery targets, prioritising efforts and initiatives based on commercial impact.
Sales, Delivery and Aftercare
Oversee the end-to-end journey for the Solar and EV charger installation, from lead-gen and sales to delivery and aftercare.
Use data and insight to identify performance gaps and drive continuous improvement across the funnel.
Work with Sales, Marketing and Technology to develop lead-gen capabilities and effective conversion from lead to sale.
Ensure high-quality delivery, providing a great CX reflected by customer satisfaction and low failure and complaint rates.
Identify and deliver commercial opportunities from industry schemes e.g. WHD, ensuring commercial value.
Maintain accountability for installation risk, compliance, and industry accreditation e.g. MCS, Solar Consumer Code.
Supplier Management
Cultivate partnerships with hardware providers, OEMs, installers and sector experts to support delivery of So Energy’s goals.
Leverage partnerships to enhance commercial capabilities, reduce operating costs and support innovation and growth.
Negotiate commercially beneficial terms with suppliers to maximise value and minimise risk to So Energy.
Team Leadership
Lead a high-performing team with a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation and collaboration.
Set clear goals and expectations and coach managers to deliver outcomes, anticipate issues and solve problems.
Take ownership of relevant governance and reporting to manage risks and ensure transparency on performance.
You’re a great match if:
You have knowledge and experience in Solar and Storage and EV charger installation businesses.
Relevant experience in lead gen, sales, operational delivery and commercial performance.
Experience managing people, building supplier relationships and stakeholder management.
Commercial awareness and analytical ability, with an eye for which levers to pull to deliver against targets.
Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements related to Solar and EV charger installation.
