Detailed Description From Employer:

Founded in 1897, Turn2us is a national charity working to tackle financial insecurity and ensure that people across the UK have access to the support they need to thrive. Through practical tools, grant-making and place-based partnerships, Turn2us supports individuals and communities facing financial hardship, while working to address the systemic drivers of poverty and exclusion. Over recent years, Turn2us has strengthened its strategic focus on community-led, place-based programmes and has built a growing high-value income function spanning major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partnerships. With an established pipeline and strong existing relationships, the organisation is entering an important phase of consolidation and growth within its high-value fundraising programme.

As part of this next chapter, Turn2us is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships for a six-month appointment beginning in March 2026. Reporting to the Director of Income & External Affairs and working closely with the CEO and Board, the Interim Head will lead the Philanthropy & Partnerships team to maximise high-value income and strengthen the organisation’s fundraising infrastructure. The postholder will oversee major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partnerships, ensuring income targets are met while building confidence, ambition and strategic clarity across the team. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will guide pipeline development, strengthen major donor engagement, support corporate new business growth, and ensure robust forecasting, CRM discipline and stewardship planning. They will play a visible leadership role across the organisation, engaging senior stakeholders and helping to embed a confident, collaborative fundraising culture.

The interim appointment comes at a significant moment for Turn2us, and this role will provide continuity, momentum and a clear strategic platform for the next phase of delivery. We are seeking candidates with a strong track record of securing high-value gifts, including five and ideally six-figure donations, and experience leading senior fundraising teams. Applicants should demonstrate strategic capability across at least one of the core income streams, with credibility to operate at Board and CEO level. While prior experience in anti-poverty or financial inclusion is not essential, alignment with Turn2us’ mission and values is critical. Turn2us is deeply committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. We warmly encourage applications from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and those who bring diverse perspectives to leadership.
