Summary: The Interim Head of Financial Reporting will oversee the external financial reporting process for a rapidly evolving business in the East Midlands on a six-month contract. This role involves leading a reporting team, ensuring compliance with statutory accounts and regulatory submissions, and collaborating with senior stakeholders. The position requires strong technical expertise and leadership during a critical reporting cycle. The role reports directly to the Group Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and delivery of the Group's consolidated statutory accounts under IFRS, ensuring full compliance with all UK regulatory requirements.
- Manage all external reporting processes, including interim and year-end reporting cycles.
- Act as primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient audit completion.
- Provide technical accounting expertise on complex accounting treatments, new IFRS developments, and disclosure requirements.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and governance framework, working closely with the Group Financial Controller.
- Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies within the reporting function.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders, including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and the Board, to ensure alignment and clarity of financial information.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) - Big 4 trained preferred.
- Significant post-qualification experience in senior financial reporting roles within large and complex organisations.
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS and experience leading group consolidations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence senior leaders, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to delivering to tight deadlines.
