Summary: The Interim Head of Finance will provide critical financial leadership and oversight for an education client during a period of growth and change. This role involves engaging with senior leaders, managing finance operations, and developing the finance team. The position is hybrid and requires a qualified accountant with substantial experience in finance management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working with budgetholders to challenge data and create achievable budgets in line with organisational strategy.
• Oversee the day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets and cash management.
• Manage the internal audit process and liaise with external auditors for the year-end accounts.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the senior leadership team.
• Coach and develop the existing finance team to improve processes and reporting.

Key Skills:

• A qualified accountant with substantial experience leading a finance function.
• Experience in the education or public sector is ideal.
• Excellent technical and commercial finance skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
