Summary: The Interim Head of Finance will oversee all financial operations within a large public services organization in Liverpool during a period of change and transformation. This role requires strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and team leadership. The position is hybrid and offers a temporary contract of 3-6 months with potential for extension. Immediate availability is preferred for candidates with relevant qualifications and experience in the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and plans aligned with the organisation's goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to develop and review budgets.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analysing variances and trends.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Present financial performance, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management.
Key Skills:
- CIPFA/CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant.
- Strong team leadership skills.
