Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the production of monthly management accounts, reporting, and analysis
- Managing cashflow and treasury functions
- Supporting the annual budget-setting process and providing in-year financial forecasting
- Preparing for year-end accounts and working closely with external auditors
- Delivering financial modelling and insights to support business planning and transformation
- Partnering with teams including fundraising, estates, procurement, and payroll
- Maintaining effective relationships with key external advisors and stakeholders
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in leading finance teams
- Delivering financial management in complex organisations
- Strong communication skills

- Charity or third sector experience (desirable but not essential)

The Scottish SPCA is a nationally recognised organisation with a proud heritage and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare. This interim role will play a pivotal part in shaping the charity’s financial operations, offering both strategic direction and day-to-day leadership. Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Interim Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning, management, and reporting. The successful candidate will lead a committed finance team and engage with colleagues across the organisation to ensure robust financial control and informed decision-making.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in leading finance teams and delivering financial management in complex organisations. Charity or third sector experience is desirable but not essential. Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills are a must.
