Interim Head of Development Finance and Analysis

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Development Finance and Analysis to lead on major investment opportunities and provide strategic financial leadership across a large regional development portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping investment decisions, supporting regional growth plans, and working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver complex development projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the regional finance lead, partnering closely with senior development leaders
• Provide strategic financial advice to Boards and Investment Committees, deputising for senior finance leadership when required
• Lead financial strategy for major new investment opportunities including partnerships, joint ventures and regeneration schemes
• Drive financial modelling and analysis for high value, complex projects
• Assess commercial and financial risks, applying scenario and sensitivity analysis to inform decisions
• Support negotiations with vendors, partners and external stakeholders
• Review and develop appraisal tools to support business growth and investment decisions
• Provide financial oversight of existing major investments including options analysis and strategic fit assessments
• Manage finance, tax and control risks across the development portfolio
• Represent the organisation at project Boards as finance subject matter expert
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors
• Manage and mentor a Senior Development Finance Analyst to strengthen regional finance capability

Desirable experience:

• CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant with significant experience in property and development finance
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-party transactions end to end
• Strong technical, commercial and strategic understanding of large investment decisions
• Credible with senior stakeholders and able to influence at executive level
• In-depth knowledge of housing and financial modelling for complex schemes
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of driving change within senior teams
