Summary: The Interim Group Financial Controller will play a crucial role in a private equity-backed buy-and-build business with approximately £200m in group revenue. This position involves close collaboration with the CFO and PE stakeholders to enhance financial controls and support growth and integration efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and experience in fast-paced, acquisitive environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead group financial control, reporting, and month-end close across the group
- Deliver timely, accurate consolidated management and statutory accounts
- Strengthen financial controls, processes, and governance in a scaling environment
- Support acquisition integration, including harmonising reporting, controls, and systems
- Oversee cashflow, working capital, and balance sheet management
- Act as a key point of contact for auditors, tax advisers, and external stakeholders
- Support PE requirements including board reporting, covenant compliance, and ad-hoc analysis
- Lead and develop the group finance team through a period of change
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Group Financial Controller (or equivalent) in a PE-backed business
- Strong background in buy-and-build / acquisitive groups
- Excellent technical accounting and consolidation skills
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-growth environment
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
