Summary: The Group Financial Accountant role is a critical position within a high-growth media company, focusing on managing consolidated financial reporting and ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards. The position requires collaboration with various teams and offers the opportunity to drive finance transformation initiatives. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in the office, and is offered on a fixed-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and experience in a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end group consolidation processes, maintaining the consolidation chart of accounts.
  • Prepare timely and accurate group consolidated financial statements, management reports and variance analyses.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Partner with Shared Services, FP&A, Tax and Treasury teams to support group-wide financial activities.
  • Collaborate with studio finance teams globally, offering technical accounting guidance and ensuring compliance with Group policies.
  • Draft technical accounting papers on key areas including IFRS 15, IFRS 3, and IFRS 2.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions into Group reporting structures.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements, automation, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 optimisation.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate year-end audit activities.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Proven post-qualification experience in group financial accounting and reporting within a complex or multinational environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP, with experience preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven mindset.
  • Well-organised, adaptable, and able to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI is highly desirable.
