Summary: The Interim General Counsel role is a senior position within a globally recognized strategy consultancy, focused on providing legal oversight and risk management for a six-month contract. The role involves leading a lean legal function while advising on client engagements, disputes, and compliance matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as senior legal adviser to Partners globally on client engagements, disputes, risk, and strategic matters
- Oversee global contracting processes, including engagement letters and client negotiations, acting as escalation point for complex or high-risk issues
- Lead on risk management matters including disputes, conflicts, and data incidents, and advise the Risk and Audit Committee
- Drive governance and compliance initiatives, including conflict management, development of playbooks, and enhancement of risk frameworks
- Take ownership of data protection matters, including client negotiations, due diligence, and internal compliance
- Oversee global company secretarial activities, including governance, filings, coordination with local advisers, and attendance at key governance forums
- Instruct and manage external counsel globally, ensuring effective delivery and cost control
- Support and supervise a Warsaw-based lawyer to ensure consistent and high-quality legal support
Key Skills:
- Senior commercial lawyer with strong in-house experience
- Background working with LLPs, partnerships, professional services, or private equity environments is highly desirable
- Excellent commercial judgement and ability to operate pragmatically in a fast-paced environment
- Credible and collaborative with senior stakeholders, with the ability to work autonomously
- Strong leadership capability within a lean legal function

We are working with a globally recognised strategy consultancy seeking an experienced Interim General Counsel to provide cover over a six-month period. The position leads a lean legal function, with day-to-day contracting handled by a Warsaw-based lawyer, and focuses on oversight, judgement, and the delivery of key legal and risk priorities.
