Summary: The role of Interim Financial Controller involves overseeing the financial operations of a key business unit within a rapidly growing FinTech company. The position requires managing product offerings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing financial control processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in FinTech or financial services, particularly in technology-driven environments. This is a 6-month assignment with potential for longer-term opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company's products and associated risks.
- Manage month-end processes for reporting P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow.
- Ensure compliance with new APPF fraud legislation and accurate representation of losses in the P&L.
- Build robust financial control processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team for analysis support.
- Proficiently manage credit products and risk provisioning.
- Handle statutory audits effectively.
Key Skills:
- Experience in FinTech, Payment Services, or financial services.
- Ownership of month-end reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of APPF fraud legislation.
- Ability to build financial control processes.
- Proficient in credit products and risk provisioning.
- Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Experience with statutory audits.

About the Role
As a Financial Controller for a key business unit, you will oversee the company's products and associated risks. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be pivotal in managing various product offerings and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
Desired attributes / skills
- Experience in FinTech/ Payment Services or financial services ideal, particularly in technology-driven environments.
- Ownership of the month end processes for reporting P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
- Ensuring strong control of the new APPF fraud legislation, including accurate representation of losses from fraudulent transactions in the P&L.
- Building robust financial control processes and strengthening internal controls.
- Working closely with the FP&A team to support with analysis.
- Proficient in credit products and risk provisioning.
- Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Experience dealing with statutory audits.
