Summary: Cedar is seeking an Interim Financial Controller for a 6-month contract within an investor-backed renewables business based in London. The role focuses on financial control, consolidation, and compliance across a complex international structure, requiring strong on-site presence and interaction with senior leadership. The position is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing financial governance and supporting strategic growth in a rapidly scaling organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the month-end close process across multiple entities
- Owning complex journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Delivering consolidation across 30+ entities, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
- Overseeing accounting for joint ventures and international operations, including coordination with external accounting partners
- Ensuring high-quality management accounts and supporting FP&A analysis across key business lines
- Managing statutory reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102), alongside VAT, corporation tax and payroll compliance
- Acting as a key point of contact for auditors and external advisors
- Driving effective use of finance systems and ensuring integrity of financial data
- Leading and developing a small finance team across transactional finance and FP&A
- Supporting process improvement and strengthening financial controls across a growing international platform
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong financial control experience
- Proven track record operating across multi-entity, international environments
- Deep experience in consolidation, group reporting and technical accounting
- Exposure to infrastructure, energy, renewables or capital-intensive sectors is advantageous
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, evolving business with increasing complexity
- Hands-on, detail-oriented and delivery-focused
- Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external advisors
