Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting financial control, reporting, compliance, and cashiering functions
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR)
- Managing and improving WIP, billing, and collections processes
- Reviewing and approving office and client account payments
- Supporting year-end financial audits and SAR compliance audits
- Maintaining robust financial controls and accounting records
- Producing management information and financial analysis to support decision-making
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities
- Developing relationships with partners and stakeholders across the business
- Driving process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation initiatives
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting members of the finance team
Key Skills:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualified experience (PQE)
- At least 3 years' experience as a Financial Controller within a law firm
- Strong knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR)
- Sound understanding of VAT and partnership tax
- Experience managing audits and preparing financial statements
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- SQL reporting skills
- Power BI experience
- Experience using Elite 3E

The Role
