We're supporting a global FMCG manufacturing organisation in the recruitment of a Site Financial Controller for a large complex manufacturing facility.
This is a highly visible leadership role within a production site, with a focus on operational improvement and strategic development.
Reporting to the European Head of Finance and partnering closely with site-based operational leaders, this role offers the opportunity to influence decision-making at both a local and international level.
Your new role
As Site Financial Controller, you will provide end-to-end financial leadership across the manufacturing operation, acting as the senior finance lead on site and a trusted business partner to the wider leadership team.
Managing a team of Finance Business Partners and Finance Analysts, you will take ownership of financial performance, reporting, forecasting, governance and operational support.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading all site finance activities across manufacturing, operations and supply chain.
- Providing robust financial insight and challenge to operational stakeholders.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and performance reporting.
- Driving improvements across labour costs, manufacturing efficiencies, utilities and variable cost performance.
- Supporting site strategy by identifying opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
- Leading month-end, balance sheet ownership, controls and audit readiness.
- Overseeing inventory, product costing and working capital management.
- Supporting business cases, capital investment decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Developing and mentoring a finance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Utilising SAP S/4HANA to deliver accurate reporting and actionable insights.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience operating within a manufacturing, FMCG or similarly complex operational environment.
You will possess:
- Strong manufacturing finance experience.
- Proven experience partnering with operational and factory leadership teams.
- Excellent understanding of standard costing, product costing, inventory and operational finance.
- Strong forecasting, budgeting and financial planning capabilities.
- A track record of leading, coaching and developing finance teams.
- The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and influence key business decisions.
- Previous ERP experience, ideally SAP.
- Food manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous.
What you'll get in return
Salary of £90,000 up to £110,000 for exceptional candidates.
