Summary: The Interim Financial Accountant role involves overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, and integration of new business financials for a PE-backed business on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The position offers a salary of £65,000 per annum (pro-rata) and allows for fully remote work or a hybrid option from the Central London office. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills and experience in multi-entity environments. Responsibilities include maintaining balance sheet accuracy, implementing financial controls, and delivering KPI reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting across multiple entities
  • Maintain balance sheet accuracy, cash flow forecasting, and working capital monitoring
  • Implement and enhance financial controls and processes
  • Integrate new business financials into group systems
  • Prepare opening balance sheets and completion accounts
  • Standardise reporting and develop meaningful KPIs
  • Extract, reconcile, and report data from diverse operational systems
  • Deliver consistent KPI reporting and build repeatable reporting templates
  • Standardise chart of accounts and month-end timetable
  • Execute integration playbooks and document key financial controls
  • Manage payments and payroll across multiple entities

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA qualified)
  • 2–6 years PQE
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience in SME or multi-entity environments
  • Hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in fast-moving, growth-focused businesses
  • Experienced in integration projects, month-end across multiple entities, completion accounts, and SPA adjustments
  • Able to work with messy data and build scalable processes without over-engineering
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to take ownership independently

Interim Financial Accountant - PE-backed Business

Stanton House is currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a PE-backed Business on a 6 month Fixed-Term Contract (with the potential to be extended). This role offers a salary of £65,000 per annum (pro-rata) and is fully remote. There is an option to work from their Central London Office in a hybrid capacity.
