Summary: The Interim Finance Manager role at a dynamic SME in Central London is a critical position for a three-month contract, aimed at preparing the business for an upcoming audit. The successful candidate will support the Finance Director by leading technical accounting efforts and ensuring the organization is audit-ready. This on-site role requires collaboration with various departments and oversight of a small finance team. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with experience in statutory reporting and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking the lead on technical accounting, particularly around acquisitions, goodwill, and corporation tax
- Preparing for and liaising with auditors ahead of an imminent audit
- Supporting the delivery of the annual statutory accounts, including accounting policies
- Business partnering with HR, Legal, and IT to ensure accurate budget coding and spend analysis
- Line management of a small transactional finance team
- Taking responsibility for reviewing and finalising the trial balance
- Working closely with Management Accounts and Credit Control to ensure smooth period-end closes
