Summary: The Interim Finance Manager role in High Wycombe requires a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) to oversee month-end close and management accounts for the UK and EMEA regions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts for UK and EMEA entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group reporting timelines.
- Manage all aspects of inter-company accounting, including reconciliations, eliminations, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring integrity and robustness of financial data.
- Manage VAT returns and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
- Partner with business stakeholders across finance and operations, providing clear insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Take ownership of year-end accounting and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate statutory submissions in line with FRS 102, UK GAAP, and/or IFRS standards.
- Lead on audit preparation and act as the key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation are complete and audit-ready.
- Support internal audit reviews and implement recommendations to strengthen controls.
- Mentor and support junior finance staff as required, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in management accounting, year-end accounting, and inter-company accounting within multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, UK GAAP and/or IFRS reporting standards.
- Experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing external audit processes.
- Strong knowledge of VAT and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate, analyse, and present complex data clearly.
- Experience in driving process automation and finance transformation projects.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience working across UK and EMEA regions desirable.
