Summary: The role of Interim Finance Manager involves overseeing the finance function of a Private Equity-backed business in Bury St Edmunds during a significant transformation. The position requires strong technical accounting expertise and hands-on management of a small finance team while supporting a NetSuite implementation. The successful candidate will report to the MD and the Group Financial Controller, ensuring robust month-end processes and financial controls. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders during a period of change.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Own the month-end close process and maintain strong financial controls.
- Support the NetSuite ERP go-live and post-acquisition integration.
- Lead and develop a small finance team.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with excellent technical accounting skills.
- Proven ability to handle month-end close independently and reliably.
- Experience in ERP implementations (NetSuite highly desirable).
- Comfortable in a PE-backed environment with multiple acquisitions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Available immediately and able to work on-site, 5 days per week.

The Role
We are working with a Private Equity-backed business in Bury St Edmunds undergoing significant transformation. They require an experienced Interim Finance Manager who can keep the finance function running smoothly while supporting a NetSuite implementation. This is a hands-on role for a true all-rounder, but with a particular emphasis on strong technical accounting expertise. You will report to the MD on-site and the Group Financial Controller (remote), managing two Transactional Finance team members and ensuring robust month-end processes.
