Summary: The Interim Finance Director role in Telford, Shropshire, involves providing strategic financial leadership during a transitional period for a respected business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, forecasting, and financial control.
  • Partner with the CEO/Managing Director and senior leadership team to provide commercial insight and financial guidance.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital management, and long-term financial planning.
  • Strengthen financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide clear board-level reporting and management information to support decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring strong performance and accountability.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and support growth and change initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience operating at Finance Director level.
  • QBE Considered.
  • Previous experience in an interim/contract FD role, ideally within an established SME or mid-sized business.
  • Strong technical accounting background combined with commercial acumen.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving financial improvement and supporting strategic growth.
  • Able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

Salary (Rate): £650 daily

We are working with a long-established and respected business based in Telford, Shropshire, seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership during a period of transition.
