Summary: The Interim Finance Director role in Telford, Shropshire, involves providing strategic financial leadership during a transitional period for a respected business. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, forecasting, and financial control.
- Partner with the CEO/Managing Director and senior leadership team to provide commercial insight and financial guidance.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital management, and long-term financial planning.
- Strengthen financial processes, systems, and controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Provide clear board-level reporting and management information to support decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring strong performance and accountability.
- Contribute to strategic planning and support growth and change initiatives.
Key Skills:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience operating at Finance Director level.
- QBE Considered.
- Previous experience in an interim/contract FD role, ideally within an established SME or mid-sized business.
- Strong technical accounting background combined with commercial acumen.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the business.
- Demonstrable experience in driving financial improvement and supporting strategic growth.
- Able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
