Summary: The Interim Finance Director role in Saudi Arabia involves leading the financial strategy and governance of a $200 million subsidiary within a major international oil and gas group. The position requires a hands-on finance leader to ensure robust financial management and compliance during a period of transition. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior management to drive performance and profitability while overseeing financial reporting and internal controls. This role is initially for six months, with the potential for extension or permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial strategy for the Saudi Arabian subsidiary in alignment with global corporate objectives.
- Provide high-level support and challenge to the Regional Managing Director and Executive Team.
- Deliver insights on business performance, market trends, and cost optimisation opportunities.
- Contribute to long-term planning, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP requirements, and internal corporate reporting standards.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis.
- Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and working capital optimisation.
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and audit readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with Saudi tax laws, ZATCA regulations, and international reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, banks, and corporate headquarters.
- Support commercial teams on contract evaluation, pricing strategies, cost tracking, and project profitability.
- Provide oversight on capex projects, investment cases, and asset management processes.
- Drive process improvements across finance operations, including potential system enhancements or ERP optimisation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a local finance team to ensure high performance and succession capability.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and handover processes should the role transition into a permanent position.
